About me

Left home in 1981 to start travelling: first on a 3 year working trip around Europe, followed by a 5 year working trip through Asia and Australasia. Job experiences ranged from chicken packing on a kibbutz in Israel, to teaching English in Taiwan, to my all time favourite: working as a deckhand on prawn trawlers in Queensland, Australia. Having run up a total of 40+ casual jobs in 8 countries over 10 years, I then settled in Thailand, where for the past 20 years I have been running my own scuba diving company, together with friends. Still with plenty of time to travel during monsoon summer months, I love returning to family & friends in the UK, which will always be home. Last year I travelled to Greenland, where I finally saw my first, much anticipated iceberg, and love of the arctic was born. Two further arctic trips quickly followed, with many more anticipated, and Antarctica remains my dream destination. Update March 2013. Just booked the trip to Antarctica for March 2014. Can't remember being this excited for about 30 years!
