John Malathronas was born in Athens, Greece, but is a naturalised Brit having lived in London for most of his life. He is a film buff and the owner of a vast music collection; he supports Tottenham Hotspur and has several photography certificates from the University of Westminster - as well as a degree from Imperial College, London. John has worked as a music and travel journalist or as an itinerant computer programmer. He speaks five languages fluently (and another two simply OK). It is these foreign language skills that have allowed him to provide valuable local insight to his travelogues, to his guidebook research and to his blog posts at http://www.malathronas.com. A social media addict, John is switching a lot of his energy from the printed word to the online blogosphere.
